Anthony Donatelli, MD
Board Certified Family Medicine Physician
My current medical office has been in existence since 2013. I was employed by Brookhaven Memorial Hospital (Long Island Community Hospital, NYU Langone) and developed their ‘MyHealth’ primary care network. My school-based medical practice was a separate entity and became One-On-One Medical Care, PC.
In January 2018, after completing the primary care initiative I promised to Brookhaven, I resigned as Medical Director of the MyHealth primary care network. I started a small private practice so I could dedicate more time to my school-based medicine practice along with my physician associate, Shazad Zeb. He is a professor and the Director of Touro College’s Physician Assistant program and is a certified BLS and ACLS instructor to the medical community. My son, Glenn Donatelli, joined the practice in 2023 after achieving his Nurse Practitioner degree and after working 7 years in Lenox Hill Hospital's cardiac care unit. We currently provide services to multiple school districts in Suffolk and Nassau Counties.
I have been practicing school-based medicine for over 30 years and Shazad Zeb has been with me for the past 14 years. We are both knowledgeable and skilled in doing student physical examinations with general care of the student, treatment of school service personnel both instructional and not instructional, athletic physicals and treatment of the athlete as well as athletic contest attendance and medical coverage. Glenn has also become adept at the tasks required of, and the obligations associated with, being Chief Medical Officer.
There were no conflicts of interest in regard to providing services for the district.
I was a contributing writer to the New York State Education Department’s guidelines regarding concussion management. I am a certified ImPACT (concussion) consultant and have gone through formal training at the University of Pittsburgh. I am DOT certified to provide state and federal driver certifications and have also received a Masters degree in Public Health from Columbia University with specialty training in preventative medicine.
I have provided school-based medicine services my entire career and found such work to be intellectually rewarding or professionally satisfying. I have participated in many statewide conferences with NYSED and NYSPHSAA officials, and currently am providing input on developing an association of school district Chief Medical Officers (CMO’S). The concept is to help provide other CMO's with the latest information on topics to aid in the best appropriate treatment of students, student athletes and other school personnel in fulfilling the school physician service obligations. I am a voting member of the 15 member NYS Athletic Safety Committee of NYSPHSAA.

people will forget what you did, but people
will never forget how you made them feel.”

sometimes you lose. You treat a person...
